What is Azure?

Azure is Microsoft’s cloud computing platform. As of Oct 2025, Sam Altman stated that OpenAI is keeping “stateless APIs on Azure exclusively through 2030,” referencing a term coined by Satya Nadella. Nadella also identified high-margin business areas as copilot offerings, including security, GitHub, and healthcare copilots (Oct 2025). In Jun 2026, Nadella described how a customer built an agentic system named “Miles” to manage Azure networking operations, noting the team found they needed tokens rather than additional headcount. As Nadella paraphrased the team: “Our job is not to do Azure networking. Our job is to build the agentic system that does Azure networking.”
