AI-generated full video ads are visibly low quality and cannot replace real people; they should be capped at ~5% of creative mix.

The case

Whatnot currently sees no need for AI avatar tools for sellers because human connection, not AI-generated presence, is the core value of the platform.

“Today we don't see a need for avatars because that's not why people come to what.”

AI-generated full videos are low-quality 'slop' that can never replace real people in ads and should constitute only about 5% of an account's creative mix.

“If you look at the like full videos that are AI, they're slop. Like you can tell immediately that it's an AI video. I think there's a place for it. Maybe 5% of your account is kind of just like a weird AI videos that just like are diverse. but I think that's that's the secret sauce is being able to create variety. in no way, shape, or form is anything in creative to the point where you can replace real people.”
